Roll up! Roll up! Marford Playing Fields were transformed into an entertainment extravaganza on Saturday, with Elevate Circus revealing the secrets of the Big Top as part of the annual Wheathampstead Village Day.
The day kicked off with the ‘Toybox Treasures’ themed High Street parade, with participants dressing up as their favourite toy or game, and from 4pm saw live music from The Simply Sixties Show, The Bee Stung Lips and The Dirty Half Hundred.
Other highlights included farm animals, stalls activities, a fun fair, and plenty of food and drink, and the event was attended by St Albans Mayor Cllr Matt Fisher.
Wheathampstead Parish Council events and communications officer Kathryn Briggs said: “Wheathampstead Village Day 2026 was our biggest event yet, with more than 60 stalls, over a dozen activities and entertainment throughout the day. It was fantastic to see so many local community groups and charities involved, and to welcome Barnet Classic Car Club, who brought along more than 30 vehicles and have already said they’ll be back next year.
“The atmosphere was incredible from start to finish, with our main stage bands providing something for everyone. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the volunteers who worked alongside Wheathampstead Parish Council to make the day such a success. Their hard work and dedication ensure Village Day continues to go from strength to strength.”
