The inaugural Alban Film Week – a collaboration between St Albans Cathedral and St Albans Film Festival – packed in cinema-loving fans for a host of different events.
Highlights included Wallace and Gromit model-making workshops, Four Weddings and a Funeral director Mike Newell taking part in a Q&A after a screening of the romcom, a Grease sing-a-long, and 1922 classic Nosferatu with a live organ accompaniment.
Festival director Matt Bigg said: “The week was a huge success. We are very proud of how it went and the reaction from all the audiences across the five days. It was so good working with the Cathedral again and together we are very happy to bring such a different range of people into such an amazing building.
“The highlights must include Nosferatu with the amazing organ soundtrack. One of the best events I have been involved in. The Barkley Marathons was also well received and great to see so many runners join us for that.
Thanks to all of all volunteers, sponsors and people behind the scenes that make it possible. And of course the audience for supporting us.”
