The drama of the Easter story will be retold in Clarence Park on Good Friday with prizes for anyone who follows the special Easter Trail.
Members of St Paul’s Church, Hatfield Road, will be acting out episodes from the last days of Jesus Christ’s life, his death and resurrection from 1.45pm to 2.45pm on April 3.
At 3pm, the final part of the story will be performed in the park’s iconic bandstand.
Those following the trail can collect stamps on a special Trail Card which entitles them to an Easter prize when full.
Rev Peter Crumpler of St Paul’s explained: “Each year, we take the Easter story into Clarence Park, with members of the church taking the roles of different characters involved
in the narrative. It’s always good to see the way people respond to witnessing the story acted out, and how it brings home its major significance.
“Easter has deep meaning for all Christians. It’s the high point in the church calendar when we celebrate Christ coming back from death. It’s all about offering hope and new life to our troubled, hurting world.”
The Easter Trail will take place around the bandstand side of the park, nearest to Hatfield Road.
