Cruz Beckham – youngest son of football legend David and Spice Girl Victoria – gave a surprise performance with his band The Breakers at iconic grassroots music venue The Horn last night.
They were appearing at the Amplify new music night – a spotlight event showcasing and supporting up-and-coming musicians by providing a platform for them to perform their original music and gain exposure to a wider audience. Also on the bill were local bands Monkey Foot Down and Syndicate.
Cruz’s first double single EP, ‘Optics’ and ‘Lick the Toad’, was released last Friday, and he has been promoting the material with a series of intimate secret gigs across the country.
The Horn’s head of bookings and promotion, Luke Hinton, said the gig had been months in the planning stages, but he was delighted it had finally gone ahead.
He added: “It was a pleasure to welcome Cruz Beckham and The Breakers and the rest of their team to The Horn. They’ve been a genuine pleasure to work with on this show throughout.
“It highlights the trust in what we do from the wider industry, and adds him to a fantastic list of artists including Yungblud, Tom Grennan, Chrissie Hynde, Tom Walker and Years & Years who’ve all chosen our stage for secret warm-up shows in recent years.”
