The Company of Ten brings the heart-warming family tale of The Railway Children to the main stage of the Abbey Theatre for this festive season.
The lives of Roberta, Peter and Phyllis Waterbury are mysteriously disrupted when they are forced to move with their mother to the countryside. The nearby railway offers a connection to their father – and a source of adventure!
This spectacular family production has been brought to life by the incredible creative team at the Company of Ten. Bringing a railway to the stage is no mean feat, but audiences will be delighted with the production. Alongside this, the wonderful attention to detail of the props and costume will whisk you away to the 1900s.
“The Railway Children is a delightful story of three youngsters who overcome the challenges of forming a new life and making new friends, having great adventures along the way. The themes that are always relevant for the Christmas season are here in abundance,” said director, Maureen Bukht.
“Six young (and eight even younger) actors, framed by a strong adult cast, have given us the chance to share a warm and affirming story, with each other and with you.”
