Matt Adams and Anna Shreeves are at Batchwood Sports Centre for the results of this year’s St Albans district council elections.
As is the case every year, a third of the council is up for election, with candidates standing in all wards apart from Redbourn and Colney Heath. The split before May 2 was 18 Lib Dems, one Green and two Conservatives, with three vacant seats.
The turnout for the election was 38.77 per cent.
The winning candidates for each ward as they were announced:
