Peace Doves flying high at St Albans Cathedral

Thousands of paper doves – each carrying messages of peace from our community – are now hanging under Britain’s oldest Cathedral tower.

The installation is the brainchild of Peter Walker Sculptor, and can be seen from now until Tuesday February 13, with events taking place under the doves’ wings including yoga, a jazz concert and theatre performances.

The Very Reverend Jo Kelly-Moore, Dean of St Albans said: “We’re delighted to host Peter Walker Sculptor’s Peace Doves in the 1,000-year-old Norman Tower of St Albans Cathedral. In this holy place where prayers have been offered for centuries, we join our prayers with the thousands of messages of peace written on the doves by people from across our Diocese and the world”

From St Albans…With Love: An evening in aid of St Albans Cathedral Education Trust featuring stars from the West End and Broadway, students from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and some very special guest readers from stage and screen. Producer Mark Robert Petty is promising “a truly magical evening celebrating music, song and the spoken word for Valentine’s Weekend on Saturday February 10.
