Charity bootcamp provides festive boost for Bliss funds

Fit With Vic held a charity bootcamp in aid of Bliss.

Around 60 adults and kids took part in a charity bootcamp in aid of Bliss, which provides support for premature babies.

Vicki Senanayake, who runs Fit With Vic, chose the charity because bootcampers Alyse Hart and Amie Noble had their babies at 24 weeks – twins Polly and Rosie and daughter Ameila respectively – and all needed crucial help during their first weeks of life.

The event took place on December 23, and included games, quizzes, mince pies, mulled wines and prizes as well as a gruelling winter workout routine, and raised almost £600 for Bliss.

The charity was founded in 1979 by a group of concerned parents who discovered that no hospital had all the equipment nor the trained staff it needed to safely care for premature and sick babies.

Determined to do something, these volunteers formed a charity to give vulnerable babies the care they deserve. 40 years later Bliss has grown into the leading UK charity for the 90,000 babies born needing neonatal care every year.
