If you’ve taken a walk around the environs of St Albans Cathedral in the past year you can’t fail to have missed the amazing transformation of Sumpter Yard.
And now the wider world has recognised the achievement, with a nomination for the Landscape Institute Design Awards.
Dean Jo Kelly-Moore said: “St Albans Cathedral is delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the heritage design category of the Landscape Institute Design Awards 2023 recognising the wonderful work done in the Sumpter Yard Revived project.
“Our warmest congratulations to Jo Gibbons and her team for the amazing design that has been brought to life and enjoyed by the people of St Albans and many visitors over the last year. The Cathedral community is committed to environmental sustainability. The greening of Sumpter Yard and its greatly improved biodiversity are a clear demonstration of that commitment.”
