We ask a different figure from the local community to choose 10 questions to answer from a list of 50. This time: canine coach Lisa Sinnott of St Paws Training Academy.
What was your first job?
My first job was in a hairdressers washing hair at 15 on a Saturday! It was called Kristens in Marshalswick. One lady was scared that I might pour water on her face but I didn’t! She gave me a 50p tip.
Where is your favourite place to have breakfast in St Albans?
Favourite breakfast spot is Hatch. The team are very friendly and the food is scrummy.
Where do you go to listen to music?
I like listening to music with family and having a sing along. We always do karaoke at my uncle’s on Boxing Day! My granny’s sister, who is 90, likes putting on her Nathan Carter CD when we visit her – that’s always fun!
Where do you like to go on a night out?
I like The Crown as I enjoy Jest Another Comedy club. The Lower Red Lion is nice too – I sometimes go to the whisky club!
Where do you buy your coffee?
I love coffee from Café Roma.
Which day would you like to relive?
I had the best day – I went to a conference about cats, there were amazing speakers there and I bumped into a peer and friend there who came all the way from Belgium! Then I went to the National Theatre to watch Hex which was magical. Then I bumped into the lead, the fairy, Lisa Lambe and I told her how magical she was and she was so friendly.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
If I could travel back in time I’d tell myself to ignore the naysayers and do what I want to do! Stay away from people who are negative and draining and always find problems to solutions.
Have you ever asked for an autograph?
My Uncle Bob worked for the BBC and got me Ross Kemp’s autograph!
If you could have a conversation with someone who has died, who would it be and what would you say?
I’d have a convo with my granny to tell her about my business with animals, that I went back to uni to study animal behaviour, that I went to Prince Charles’ birthday at a garden party (she liked him a lot!) and to thank her for looking after me and being a lovely person who always was there to give me a hug (and some chocolate!).
Who is your favourite local musician?
Sinead Quinn and her band are amazing.
