New daytime choir where you don’t need to be able to sing!

The Collaboration Choir is coming to St Albans

A new daytime choir has launched in St Albans, giving local people the chance to sing, socialise and make new friends – with no audition and no previous singing experience required.

The Collaboration Choir is led by choir director Amy Cordina who is an experienced Disney teaching artist. She is also a Vocal Balance accredited vocal coach who trained in musical theatre and dance, and loves performing alongside being a choir director.

Her favourite songs include ‘Best Day Of My Life’, originally sung by American Authors and ‘Man I Need’ originally performed by Olivia Dean.

Amy explained the ethos behind the choir: “I really believe that with the right support, singing together can be a transformative, joyous experience and a brilliant way to build confidence that you can take away and weave into your everyday life.”

The St Albans choir will meet on Tuesdays at St Mary’s Church Hall from 10.30am for 90 minutes of singing, laughter and fun. The group, which welcomes beginners alongside more experienced singers, is designed to offer a fresh opportunity for people to brighten up their week and works perfectly for those who might not be able to make an evening choir.

Amy added: “I’m excited to be opening this daytime choir in St Albans. Not only will singing together give people a midweek boost, there’s also a real sense of purpose to be gained from all the charity fundraising we do – we’re building up to something very exciting this autumn and I’d love to see as many of the local St Albans community join us as possible!”
