The inaugural St Albans Dog Day proved to be something to bark about.

Organised by St Albans BID to create awareness of dog-friendly businesses within the city centre, it featured various doggie delights including free treat bags and puppachinos courtesy of Chiltern Pet, various canine-focused market stalls and ‘puparazzi’ selfie frames dotted around the streets.

Vivien Cannon, manager of St Albans BID, said: “We were delighted to see so many people and their furry friends enjoying themselves in our city centre. It proved to be a real social occasion for dogs and their owners, and we hit the spot promoting our huge number of dog-friendly city centre businesses. We have launched a brand-new directory on our visitor website, www.enjoystalbans.com to showcase the hundred-plus list of businesses and attractions offering a warm welcome to dogs, which we know will be a really useful reference for visitors.”
