Maltings Summer Sounds returns for a night of music, food, shopping and community

Following the huge success of last year’s debut event, Summer Sounds is returning to The Maltings, St Albans, on Friday July 3, bringing together live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks and late-night shopping for a vibrant summer celebration in the heart of the city.

Running from 6pm until 10pm, the free event will transform The Maltings into a lively festival atmosphere, showcasing some of the best local talent, fantastic retail and hospitality businesses and the community that make St Albans such a special place to visit.

Visitors can enjoy an evening packed with live entertainment from Grace George, Brilliant Theatre Academy, Flabba, Pat and the Butchers, and live DJs throughout. Adding even more sparkle to the festivities will be special guest appearances from the fabulous Fiona Flange and Vikki Vivacious.

Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with a range of favourites serving up summer treats, including Chicken George, Lime Face, Waffle Wands, Craft & Cleaver and Chai. Drinks will be available throughout the evening from Banquet Inn, Fade to Black and the Youth Talk Prosecco Bar. Visitors can also support local charity Youth Talk, with proceeds from their Prosecco Bar helping to fund its vital work with young
people across the area.

Alongside the entertainment, visitors can take advantage of late-night shopping across participating retailers, making Summer Sounds the perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening out while supporting local businesses.

Free parking will be available at The Maltings from 6pm onwards, making it even easier for visitors to join the celebrations.

The Maltings centre manager Richard Marrett said: “We were blown away by the response to the first Summer Sounds event and are delighted to be bringing it back for a second year. The event is all about celebrating everything that makes St Albans special – our fantastic local businesses, talented performers, great food and strong community spirit. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another unforgettable summer evening.”
