The Beech House in St Peter’s Street has announced it will be permanently closing its doors after Sunday lunch.
The pub was bought out by Upham Inns last July after former owners Oakman Inns went into administration.
But today Upham revealed that the high street hostelry would not be continuing to operate under their umbrella.
A social media post said: “We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible team and to all of our guests for your loyalty and support over the years. It has truly been a pleasure to welcome you.”
The Beech House opened in September 2014 on the former site of Veer Dhara Indian restaurant after that business was served with a notice of repossession by Pizza Hut, the former occupiers of the building and the leaseholders.
