DJs, foodies, footballers, rugby players, influencers and bloggers were all in attendance as St Albans’ long-awaited Chicken George restaurant held a special VIP launch on Friday night.
The new eatery, at the Victoria Street end of The Maltings Shopping Centre, was packed with guests chowing down on the fried chicken dishes it has become renowned for, alongside cocktails, beers and plenty of banging beats.
Downstairs, Playstation consoles offer a distraction while the food was being prepared, while upstairs is the sports bar, complete with DJ booth, dartboard, an array of massive TV screens, and even a party going on in the toilet.

On the menu for the opening night were mango chicken tenders, Thai and tropical heat wings, George’s famous sticky barbecue ribs. southern fried shrimp with shellfish mayo, and sides of fries, lamb keema Indian nachos, and Marmite mac and cheese.
Chicken George Jnr officially opens to the public on April 25.
