A brand new live music showcase is launching in St Albans this May, giving local audiences the chance to discover the UK’s next generation of breakthrough artists.

Presented by Juicebox Live, BOX FRESH will debut at The Horn on Wednesday May 20, featuring newly signed artists from some of the world’s leading booking agencies.
Designed to champion the next generation of breakthrough talent, BOX FRESH will offer audiences a rare opportunity to discover future headliners in intimate grassroots venues.

The debut line-up brings together three standout acts:
NORi – A St Albans-based alternative grime artist blending high-energy production with deeply personal storytelling.

Cutscene – A County Durham band delivering a powerful mix of gritty indie rock and atmospheric intensity.
HAMISH – A Scottish singer-songwriter with a soulful, distinctive voice and emotionally rich songwriting.

BOX FRESH forms part of a wider initiative supported by LiveLine – a funding programme powered by arena and stadium artists to support the UK grassroots music ecosystem – developed in collaboration with Music Venue Trust and the Association of Independent Promoters.

The series aims to provide a vital platform for emerging artists to build audiences beyond major cities, while giving music fans the opportunity to experience the UK’s freshest talent at a key stage in their development.

Luke Hinton from Juicebox Live, said: “BOX FRESH is about creating real opportunities for the next generation of artists at the exact moment it matters most.

“We’re working with some of the world’s leading booking agencies to bring newly signed talent into grassroots venues, giving audiences the chance to
discover artists early, in the kind of intimate settings where careers really begin. With the support of LiveLine, MVT and AIP, this is about building something sustainable that genuinely supports the future of live music.

“It’s really important to us that St Albans continues to play a part in developing new artists. BOX FRESH gives local audiences the chance to say ‘we saw them first’, while also supporting the future of grassroots live music.”
