Are you male, retired, working flexibly, or just fancy a new hobby? Then why not come along to the new Harpenden Men’s Daytime Singing Group!
Run by well-known professional singer and choir director, Tim Armstrong-Taylor, this group will meet on Tuesday mornings after Easter in the Harpenden Trust Hall.
Tim’s life has been filled with music and singing – from a church chorister at All Saints in Hertford, to soloist in the Monteverdi and Schutz world famous choirs, singing on film soundtracks and even being a member of the choir who recorded the Champions League theme!
He already conducts three other local successful and flourishing choirs but felt there was a need for an all male daytime group – an unusual project. His mantra is to get as many people as possible singing together in a fun, relaxed and inclusive way and promoting the idea that singing together is good for your health – your mind and body.
In his other career Tim and his identical twin brother Roly perform widely across the UK as their musical comedy act ‘Victor and Albert’. They will be at The Maltings Theatre in St Albans for a matinee performance on May 15 and at the OVO Roman Theatre, Verulamium on theevening of July 5. Last November, Victor and Albert raised more than £2,000 for the new Saint Germain Barn Theatre project in St Albans confirming Tim’s commitment and passion for local arts.
Tim said: “Come and be part of a new singing community! No auditions, no need to read music and absolutely no experience required. Sessions will be as rewarding as they are fun; no stress, no stuffiness, just the sheer joy of making a great sound in good company, with a refreshing cup of coffee afterwards.”
Local NHS GP Fiona Martindale revealed: “Singing is good for us – many people know that intuitively, but over the last few decades research has found many benefits to physical, mental and emotional health.”
The first session is free, so why not come and have fun in a friendly group which stimulates, inspires and will encourage you to’Sing Yourself Happy!’Call Tim on 07398 986 449, email tim@singwithtim.com or see www.singwithtim.com.
