Oaklands College’s ever-popular lambing weekend returns to the Smallford campus at the start of May.
The annual event on May 9-10 features the chance to meet newborn lambs, explore the college farm and zoo, and enjoy a packed programme of family fun.
This year’s headline attraction will see children’s favourites Bluey and Bingo appearing live on stage, with five energetic 15-minute performances each day. Other attractions include tractor rides, bouncy inflatables, local craft stalls, educational displays and a variety of food vendors.
The event will also highlight and support local causes including Cecil’s Sanctuary and YMCA, helping raise awareness for community initiatives.
As part of the celebrations, Oaklands College is inviting local primary schools to take part in a creative Lambing Weekend Drawing Competition ahead of the event.
Winning entries will receive family tickets to Lambing Weekend, with the winners announced live from the event on Mix 92.6 on Saturday May 9.
The competition forms part of the college’s efforts to strengthen connections with local schools and PTAs, building long-term partnerships and creating opportunities to support school communities with prizes and family experiences at Oaklands.
Schools interested in taking part can request more information by emailing Vieri.Wickes@Oaklands.ac.uk.
As part of a drive to place sustainability at the heart of the event, vsitors are encouraged to bring their own cups for hot drinks – receiving 25p off when they do – and bring bags for purchases from stalls, helping keep the event clean and green.
