A St Albans business leader has been named Local Entrepreneur of the Year by Entrepreneurs Circle (EC), in recognition of his leadership, experience and contribution to the local business community.
David Egerton, founder of business development company Systemise2Scale, received the award at the St Albans EC Local Event for the role he has played in building and scaling successful businesses, while also supporting other local entrepreneurs to think more clearly and make better decisions.
Alongside systematically building his own ventures using a blend of Entrepreneurs Circle principles and decades of hands on experience, David has grown, scaled and successfully exited multiple businesses. That depth of experience has made him a respected and trusted voice within the St Albans EC Local community.
Peter Barker, local ambassador for Entrepreneurs Circle in St Albans, said: “We are delighted to recognise David as our Local Entrepreneur of the Year. His contribution goes far beyond sharing past successes. David helps people think clearly, validate their plans and make better decisions. He brings experience, generosity and calm leadership into the local group, and the community is stronger because of it.”
Nigel Botterill, founder of Entrepreneurs Circle, added: “Local Entrepreneur of the Year is about more than business success. It recognises people who combine experience with the willingness to share it, and who help raise the standard of thinking and decision making around them. David’s approach and contribution within the St Albans group make him a very worthy recipient of this award.”
Accepting the award, David said: “I was genuinely surprised to receive this. What made it special wasn’t the award itself, but the people. The St Albans EC group is full of thoughtful business owners, honest conversations and feedback that really matters. I’m incredibly grateful and quietly excited about what’s ahead, and I’m looking forward to helping even more business owners build clarity, confidence and momentum.”
Entrepreneurs Circle Local Events bring business owners together each month to learn, collaborate and share what is working in the real world. In 2025, the programme evolved from traditional meetings into more immersive business events and experiences, designed to support practical learning and stronger peer connections.
The St Albans EC Local Event supports entrepreneurs at every stage, from start ups to established businesses and is open to business owners who are members of Entrepreneurs Circle.
