TV and film stars taking over the Alban Arena for one weekend

Marty Wilde MBE, Paula Wilcox and Robert Powell head a star-studded bill as Talking Pictures TV brings a weekend of old-fashioned entertainment to the Alban Arena.

Festival of Film is a weekend of classic film and television taking place on Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22, and includes a mix of rare and lost films and shorts showing on the big screen.

Music legend, Marty Wilde MBE, leads the line-up of guests and will be performing some much-loved songs including Sea of Love and Bad Boy.

Paula Wilcox, star of Man About the House and The Lovers talks to fellow actress, Hi-de-Hi star, Linda Regan, about her long career on stage and screen. Actors and long-time friends, Robert Powell and Leigh Lawson, share the stage bringing a wealth of stories from their acting lives with their customary charm and wit. The legendary Melvyn Hayes, of It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, will regale us with tales from a lifetime as an actor.

Caroline Munro, hostess of Talking Pictures TV’s The Cellar Club, is in conversation with fellow scream queen and Bond girl, Madeline Smith.

Fans of seventies’ series, The Brothers, are in for a treat with an exclusive reunion of some of the stars of that show; Colin Baker, Julia Goodman and Françoise Pascal.

Comedians include Crackerjack legend, Bernie Clifton, the one and only Tommy Cannon, and star musical comedian, Andy Eastwod. Top ventriloquist, Steve Hewlett, presents the history of this unique form of entertainment. Andre Vincent delves into the history of comedy.

Music is provided by the fabulous Lola Lamour, who transports us back in time with her renditions of the classics, and Maxine Mazumder, who brings to life the queen of British Soul, Dusty Springfield. Tap dancer, Katie Lewis, evokes the spirit of Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire with her dynamic, uplifting routines.
