Eyes on the early birds

Eyes on early birds...

We know, we know – it’s only just December. The decorations are still in boxes, and Jez is still insisting there’s no Christmas music on the playlist until at least the second (third?) week of the month. But not everyone leaves their gift shopping to the last minute (ahem – Jez), and if you’re one of those wonderfully organised types, this one’s for you.
At EYES on St Albans, the shelves are looking rather fabulous this month thanks to the arrival of the brand-new Secrid Cardprotector for MagSafe. It’s the latest clever idea from Secrid – a sleek, snap-on cardholder that connects to the back of your iPhone using Apple’s MagSafe system. Inside, the classic aluminium design keeps your cards safe from bending and skimming, while outside it looks effortlessly cool. Compact, lightweight and brilliantly practical, it’s one of those “why didn’t someone do this sooner?” inventions.
Perfect for the gadget lover, the frequent traveller or the friend who already owns everything,
it’s a gift that’s equal parts tech and style. And yes, it still makes that satisfying click when you slide the cards out. We defy you not to play with it.
Of course, Secrid’s full collection is in stock – from the original Cardprotectors to the smart Miniwallets and beautifully crafted leather finishes. Add in some of our favourite EYES accessories and you’re halfway through your shopping list.
Our Squeaky Clean spray and cloths are always complimentary when you buy eyewear, so this season’s focus is on gifts that sparkle in every sense: think Heartwood Glass light catchers, framed art and their fabulous Christmas decorations hand-crafted just up the road in Sandridge.
And yes, before you ask, our very special yellow-nosed reindeer (there are only three in existence that we know of) will be returning to the window display very soon. Maybe we should call it something more than ‘the yellow nosed reindeer’ – if Rudolph had red, what could this one be named?

If you’re after something a little different, how about giving the gift of colour this Christmas?

Our EnChroma glasses can transform the way colour-blind friends and family see the world – turning muted reds and greens into vibrant shades they may never have seen before. It’s a genuinely life-changing present, and we’ve seen more than a few emotional reactions in store.

Not sure what to choose? EYES gift vouchers are available and can be used towards glasses, sunglasses, accessories or EnChroma lenses – so the lucky recipient can enjoy choosing for themselves in the New Year.

So yes, it might still be November, but there’s nothing wrong with being ahead of the game.

Pop in, browse, and find a few treasures before the Christmas rush hits. We can’t promise Jez won’t still be muttering “too early” under his breath, but we can promise he’ll help you find something brilliant.

Because seeing clearly, shopping early and wrapping something that’s genuinely useful – that’s our kind of festive spirit.
