A new collaboration between St Albans Postboxes and St Albans Museums will see just 25 hand-crafted Christmas tree postbox decorations go on sale for £25 each this November – and they are expected to sell out fast.
Lovingly created by Just Trade, each keepsake is inspired by the city’s iconic winter tradition of crocheted and knitted postbox toppers. A percentage from every sale will go to this year’s fundraising for two local charities: Comfort Cases UK and Herts Domestic Abuse Helpline.
Since launching in 2018, the St Albans Postboxes project has now raised over £165,000 for local charities through community creativity, sponsorship, and donations.
Clare Suttie, Candy Stuart and Lucy Dronfield, organisers of St Albans Postboxes, said: “We’re so excited about this partnership with St Albans Museums – it’s a beautiful way for people to take home a little piece of our Christmas magic while supporting two incredibly important local charities. These decorations are handmade with love, a joyful addition to any Christmas tree, and will make a real difference.”

The decorations will be available exclusively at St Albans Museum + Gallery from mid-November. Only 25 decorations will be made – so early shoppers are encouraged to get theirs quickly before they sell out.
