Acclaimed comedy drama The Last Laugh – starring Bob Golding as Harpenden’s own Eric Morecambe – wants your nominations for the prestigious WhatsOnStage Awards.
The play, which made its debut at the town’s Eric Morecambe Centre last year, presents an imagined meeting between legendary comedians Eric, Tommy Cooper and Bob Monkhouse.
Since then, The Last Laugh has been seen across the UK and beyond, with performances including Noel Coward in the West End and 59e59 Theatre in New York, earning five star reviews wherever it played.
Evolution Productions’ panto impresario Paul Hendy – who wrote, directed and produced The Last Laugh, is now asking for audiences to give their support in these awards.
“The Last Laugh has had an incredible journey from Edinburgh to the West End to New York but it all started at the wonderful Eric Morecambe Centre in Harpenden and I’m so proud that it did. ”It would be wonderful if people who saw the play there could vote for it in the prestigious What’s On Stage Awards.”
You can nominate the stars and the play for various categories at https://awards.whatsonstage.com/
The gala awards ceremony will take place at The London Palladium on March 8.
