Fighting Cocks Fest is a sure-fire smash

The Fighting Cocks Fest at YOFC.

In the words of the legendary James Taylor: “I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain.”

Both were in good supply at the inaugural Fighting Cocks Fest on Saturday.

Even the free ponchos supplied by the pub were not enough to protect punters from the deluge which battered them shortly after the event started.

But after the floods came the fun, and the clouds cleared away to ensure a sunshine-packed session throughout the afternoon, which saw an array of bands, face-painting and even a fire-eater entertaining crowds in the Cocks’ beer garden.

Acts included the Maida Vales, Kaspar and the Swamp Dogs, King Violet, Bandini, Vertigo, Carla Coyne, Kick Pistol, Veala, Funky Monks and Ed Ashmore Jazz Trio, followed by a late-night DJ set by Chris C.
