A new initiative has paired local artists with 20 businesses around the city to provide them with an opportunity to showcase their work.
The artists, who form part of the Collective Gallery artistic hub on Holywell Hill, will be taking part in the inaugural St Albans Art Trail from July 15-29.
This offers a chance to view and purchase their work from businesses including Fleetville Larder, Eve & Adam Beauty, The Pudding Stop, EYES on St Albans, Empire Records, Books on the Hill and many more.
Organiser Aisha Adi explained: “I’ve organised the art trail as I’m interested in exhibiting art in public spaces.
“This trail is part of a series of public art projects that will take place in the city, and follows our second community mural in Drovers Way which we recently created.
“An art trail is a route that is designed to enable the public to experience art in specific locations. It’s a great way for the public to discover and engage with the arts in familiar community settings.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for local artists to showcase their work as well as highlighting the independent businesses in the area.
“Visitors can expect a wide range of original art for all tastes that they can view or buy. There is a vast range of styles from abstract to more traditional types of artwork. There is something for everyone!”
Sponsored by St Albans BID, the event is accompanied by pamphlets including a map of the route designed by Magdalena Pisuk and details about the different artists, which can be collected from St Albans Museum + Gallery.
