OVO’s critically acclaimed production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol returns by popular demand for a fourth year to a new location – the historic walled Vintry Garden, overlooking St Albans Cathedral.
Written and directed by Royal Television Society winner, Mark O’Sullivan (Lee and Dean, C4; Tell Me Everything, ITV; The Great Gatsby, OVO), this open-air promenade experience promises to immerse audiences in the spirit of Christmas past, present and yet to come.
OVO’s artistic director and founder, Adam Nichols said: “Vintry Garden is a beautiful historic setting that evokes a sense of stepping back in time.”
A sell-out at Verulamium Roman Theatre for the past three years, this year’s production will open on December 5 and will run until December 30..
Cllr Helen Campbell, chair of SADC’s public realm committee said: “We’re delighted that Vintry Garden will provide the setting for OVO’s promenade production of A Christmas Carol. It’s fantastic to see this historic city centre space being brought to life with seasonal theatre for residents and visitors alike.”
