Morris dancers hold day of displays across St Albans city centre

St Albans Morris at the Alban Arena

The sounds of bells ringing and hazel sticks beating echoed throughout St Albans city centre on Saturday.

Members of St Albans Morris – together with representatives from seven other sides – were marking the end of this year’s season with their annual day of dance, and saw displays outside the Alban Arena and the Clock Tower, at Christopher Place Shopping Centre and George Street, and at the Cathedral, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks and the White Hart Tap.

St Albans Morris have been performing the Cotswold tradition of Morris around Hertfordshire and beyond since 1930.
