At St Albans Girls’ School more than 20 students achieved all A*s and As in their results.
Headteacher Paul Kershaw said: “We are immensely proud of the outstanding accomplishments STAGS students have celebrated today.
“The commitment and perseverance they have shown throughout their seven years at STAGS have been inspiring and they now move on to exciting next steps with enthusiasm.
“Amongst so many notable successes, including over 20 students who achieved all A*s and As, many congratulations go to Alice who is to read classics at Cambridge, Nahia and Temi who have secured places to read medicine and Julia who will read veterinary science. Also, congratulations to Caitlin, Isobel, Amy, Faith, Purdy, Ruqayya and Katherine who amongst others, have made exceptional progress over the course of the last two years. All today’s incredible achievements are so richly deserved.
“It has been wonderful to hear about the amazing destinations students are headed for over the next few weeks including Cambridge, UCL, KCL, Warwick, Leeds, Nottingham, Liverpool, Cardiff and Hertfordshire; the majority of students gained a place at their first-choice university.
“Students’ efforts and dedication to independent study and wider reading, have contributed towards wonderful opportunities for further study in a range of psychology courses, economics, education, computer science, midwifery, costume design, digital media, accounting and finance, civil engineering, management and animation being undertaken amongst many others. Pathways for students moving forward also include a number of apprenticeships.
“We send huge congratulations to all students and have every confidence that they will thrive in whatever paths they choose. Their successes are a testament not only to their own efforts, but also to the unwavering support of parents and the dedication of STAGS staff. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has played a part in helping students reach these remarkable milestones.”
