Plans have been revealed for a major refurbishment of the Alban Arena.
The £277,000 project is set to begin in September with circle seating initially being replaced, and then the stalls in summer 2026 – increasing the seating capacity from 850 to 902 after both phases.
The project, which is is jointly funded by Everyone Active and SADC, promises improved comfort, accessibility and audience experience.
The refurbishment will also include new LED aisle lighting and additional flat-floor wheelchair spaces.
An additional £50,000 investment by Everyone Active this summer will see the refurbishment of audience toilets with new flooring, lighting and mirrors, and the upgrading of green room facilities for visiting performers.
