Beach goers in St Albans can enjoy the sand between their toes a little closer to home over the holiday season.
Willows’ new Sandy Beach attraction forms part of its Summer Spectacular event which gets underway today (Saturday) and runs until Tuesday September 2.
The Sandy Beach features deckchairs, buckets and spades and a beach hut café for visitors to enjoy a traditional day at the seaside.
Willows director Andrew Wolfe said: “We wanted to bring an authentic slice of summer to Willows for the school holidays this year. Being almost 50 miles from the nearest coastal beach means a long and tiring day out so we hope our manmade beach here at Willows will provide just as much fun as a trip to the seaside, but a bit closer to home.”
Also new for the summer is the introduction of the Jolly Junction. Previously the JCB Drivers’ Zone, the space has undergone a refurbishment ahead of the summer and is now a
dedicated play area featuring more than 20 ride on cars for under 3s to enjoy.
The Summer Spectacular event takes place everyday of the six-week school holidays and visitors can also look forward to a day of farmyard fun including the return of the A-maize-ing Maize, the puddle play park, summer arts and crafts, foam parties and tractor rides.
Guests will also be able to take advantage of the Ten Times the Fun Multi Ticket, which allows visitors up to 10 visits to the farm park throughout the summer celebration for just £39.95.
