A parade of giant puppets celebrated the story of Saint Alban, Britain’s first Christian martyr, in a procession of Roman chariots, centurions, lions and executioners.
The annual event, which is organised by St Albans Cathedral, took place in the city centre on Saturday as part of the wider Alban Weekend.
It was followed by an afternoon of medieval-themed fun on the Cathedral Orchard, with local food and drinks accompanied by re-enactments, dancing, crafts and music.
