St Albans business launches campaign to recognise local heroes with garden gift

A Garden on a Roll border is up for grabs!

A St Albans insurance company has launched a feel-good competition aimed at celebrating everyday heroes in the local community.
Howden Insurance in London Road is inviting residents to nominate someone who has gone above and beyond to make a difference — whether through acts of kindness, helping the community or just being a great neighbour.

The winner will receive a Garden on a Roll ready-made border, complete with a biodegradable template and expertly selected plants curated by award-winning garden designer Antony Henn. As if that’s not enough, they’ll also win a £250 prepaid Mastercard!
Howden commercial account executive Harry Sewell said “We’re proud to be part of such a strong, supportive community here in St Albans.

““This competition is our way of giving back and celebrating the people who make this area so special.”

Designer Antony added: “Our mission is to make gardening accessible, fun, and rewarding — and there’s no better way to do that than by helping someone who truly deserves a little recognition. We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Howden St Albans on this uplifting campaign.”

To enter, simply visit Howden St Albans – Win a Garden Border & £250 pre-paid Mastercard!. A shortlist of three outstanding nominees will be selected by the judging panel — and then it’s over to the public to cast their vote and crown the winner.
