EastEnders, influencers and stylists will be taking to the catwalk for a sold-out charity fashion show which aims to raise awareness of neurodiversity while helping boost funds for a local junior school.
The Fleetville Fashion Extravaganza is being hosted by Hatfield Road shop I’m Fine Wellbeing to support Fleetville Junior School.
Taking place in the school hall on May 22 from 7.30pm, it promises to be an evening of style and creativity featuring an all-star line-up of models and speakers.
They include EastEnders actor Kellie Bright, personal stylist Alex Standley of Luxe Leopard Lifestyle, and stylist to the stars Stevie B, whose clients include GMTV’s Allison Hammond, Sadie Frost, Peaky Blinders actor Emmet J Scanlan, J-Lo and Gavin and Stacey’s Ruth Jones.
Stevie will be talking about body positivity, while Alex will be discussing dopamine dressing, the natural chemical release you feel from wearing bright colours.
Co-owner of I’m Fine, Natalie Heard, said: “This is an event for everyone out there who has been told they can’t when they can! It’s why we created the shop, because I don’t fit the mould of fashion and can’t be told what to do.
“We’re doing it to raise awareness of what we’re trying to achieve with I’m Fine, which is to create a sanctuary for the local community, while also doing our bit to support Fleetville Junior in fundraising for new equipment.”
Carol Morton, Chair of The Friends of Fleetville Junior School, said: “There’s a real buzz of excitement around Fleetville in anticipation of our Fashion Extravaganza evening!
“Fleetville schools hugely appreciate the support of Natalie and Amy from local fashion retailer I’m Fine on Hatfield Road to make this night a success.
“Community events like this are at the heart of our ethos. Both PTAs are currently raising funds to enrich the outdoor areas to support learning and play.
“At the junior school we are working hard to raise money to support the dream of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) – a dream that gets closer with every event we run.”
The show will see the launch of the shop’s new kidswear range – Fred and Noah, and feature cheeseboxes curated by Ed Bevin from The Fleetville Larder.
