We ask a different figure from the local community to choose 10 questions to answer from a list of 50. This week: Lyssa Elster, chief executive at Willows Activity Farm.
What TV did you watch as a child?
Watch with Mother – which demonstrates how much change has happened over time – my favourites were ‘The Flowerpot Men’!
Were you well behaved at school?
I think I had three detentions in all my secondary school years – I hope that puts me at the ‘well behaved’ end of the spectrum!
Which three people, living or dead, would be your ideal dinner party guests?
Amos Oz, Louis Theroux, and Fred Astaire.
Do you have any phobias?
Seaweed of all things! I can’t stand being in the sea and being touched by seaweed.
What is your favourite single item of clothing?
Boots – I have far too many and I love how they can change an outfit. My silver stiletto cowboy boots are my current favourite.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs and specifically Westies – I had three at one time and one who lived to 17 years of age – they are the best friend you could ask for.
Have you ever asked for an autograph?
Yes, Mickey Mouse at Disneyland.
Do you speak any foreign languages?
No. But as a parent of a teenager it feels like ‘Gen Alpha speak’ is a foreign language sometimes!
What’s your favourite meal?
Tapas – I lived in Spain for four years and I love the social nature of eating and sharing together as much as the range of flavours.
What’s your favourite hidden gem in the district?
Willows Activity Farm of course!
