BBC London TV have been filming at St Albans Cathedral today and will be covering the story of the Peregrine falcons’ new eggs on tonight’s news programme at 6.30pm.
The pair of birds have laid a second clutch of eggs following an incident in which their first eggs of the breeding season were destroyed last month.
So far there are three eggs in total.
The BBC’s Alice Bhandhukravi interviewed Josh Kalms, people and wildlife officer at Herts and Middlesex Trust, and the Very Revd Jo Kelly-Moore, Dean of St Albans Cathedral.
They also took footage of Josh engaging with members of the public and watching the Peregrines.
A Peregrine Watch event is taking place in the Abbey Orchard by the Cathedral tomorrow, May 10, between 11am and 2pm.
Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust will be there along with the local St Albans RSPB group with telescopes and the binoculars for the public to use, and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the birds. The event is free of charge and anyone can just turn up.
