Flexible workspace operator Co-Space is set to occupy approximately 28,000 sq.ft. of new workspace in city centre showpiece development Jubilee Square, becoming the site’s first major commercial tenant.
The 20-year partnership agreement sees the flexible work operator join forces with landlord SADC, who spearheaded the development, and occupy Eleanor Ormerod House, one of the two main buildings on the site.
This is yet another partnership with a local authority for Co-Space, who are pioneering office spaces for one man bands through to regionalised corporate offices within reach of the high street and within suburban towns and cities, with quick links into the capital.
They are keen to see councils benefit from the rising demand for flexible workspaces, supporting urban renewal and meeting ambitions driven by Local Plans and leaders.
Co-founder of Co-Space William Stokes said: “This is our sweet spot. St Albans is a thriving community that has grown post-pandemic, attracting talent, entrepreneurs and businesses alike. St Albans district council is a progressive authority, that have transformed Jubilee Square into a vibrant hub of homes and offices; we’re thrilled to be partnering with them bringing forward flexible offices for over 420 members and businesses. With private offices from two desks, we handle property needs so businesses can focus on growth.”
The site is scheduled to open in autumn 2025, with desks priced from £500 plus VAT per month inclusive of rates, bills and service.
Council leader Cllr Paul de Kort added: “Following the recent completion of Jubilee Square, we’re excited to develop a partnership with Co-Space. The team share our values and vision for St Albans—a commitment to fostering ambition and growth by providing in-demand office spaces and creating places where people want to be.”
