Runners endured the hottest weekend of the year to take part in this year’s St Albans Half Marathon.
The event took place in blazing sunshine on Sunday morning, starting and finishing at Verulamium Park, with a variety of routes on top of the standard half, including a 5K and fun run.
All funds raised go towards the AT Society, a Harpenden-based charity supporting children, young adults and their families affected by ataxia-telangiectasia, and funds research into finding a cure.
Coming in first place was Paul Adams from St Albans Striders with a time of 1:15:47, closely followed by Jonathan Yeates from Barnet and District AC at 1:16:31.
The first woman to complete the route was Kate Rennie from Dacorum AC with a time of 1:23:14.
The winner of the 5K was Strider Matthew Cooper at 17:33, and David Clamp won the walking half with a time of 2:19:35.
