When St Albans’ Chequer Street Oxfam store closed its doors at the start of the summer, we were promised it would be opening a bigger premises on the site of the former Moss Bros outlet in July.
But months later and the shop has still not been fitted out and signage is conspicuously absent from the frontage.
But that doesn’t mean that Oxfam has abandoned us…
A spokesperson said: “The Oxfam shop that was previously in Chequer Street will be opening soon in its new location. The bigger space will enable us to display more wonderful preloved items to help us raise valuable funds to support Oxfam’s work tackling poverty and inequality around the world.
“We are looking forward to welcoming our customers back to our new space and will have more details on the opening date soon.”
