They say it gets earlier every year, but surely nobody expected to see a Christmas tree erected in Market Place on September 10?
But before you start worrying about prepping the sprouts and choosing the turkey. don’t stress, it isn’t what it seems.
The tree will actually be featuring in this year’s Tesco festive advert, which is shooting in the city centre over the coming week.
It isn’t the first time the district has appeared in one of the supermarket giant’s seasonal shorts – last year’s saw sequences filmed around Wheathampstead.
