Spud you like? Potato Shindig returns to Willows

Twenty tonnes of potatoes are ready to harvest at Willows Activity Farm this autumn.

The Potato Shindig encourages visitors to get digging at the farm until Sunday September 29, and every paying child can take a bucket of freshly-dug spuds home with them.

Lyssa Elster, chief executive at Willows said: “Our team planted the seed potatoes earlier this year and we’re really looking forward to welcoming families in to unearth some spectacular spuds.

“We also love seeing online what our young harvesters have created with their free potatoes when they get home including chips, mashed potatoes and roasties, along with seeing them get stuck into some potato art.”

As well as harvesting potatoes, visitors can look forward to potato stamping in the arts and crafts marquee while the farm’s own potato mascot, Spuddy, will be back on stage to entertain visitors with a mash-up of singing and dancing.

The Potato Shindig takes place daily from September 7-29. Tickets include all activities, shows and adventure play and can be purchased in advance online with savings on family tickets.
