Students at Sandringham saw records set in every area of their GCSE results.
As Year 11 opened their envelopes, realisation set in that their efforts had been rewarded and they would be progressing to the next stage in education, either at college,
or, for the vast majority, joining the sixth form and enjoying the benefits this has to offer post-16.
Joe Farrugia, Selina Jimenez, Tabitha Devlin and Oscar Fok achieved straight level 9s, with Hannah Gould, Azima Muratova, Nathan Posner, Eli Adams, Sophie Cray and Anson Yim narrowly missing straight 9s. Nathan was also the highest performer in media studies in the country, with Harry Parkin achieving full marks in every paper in mathematics.
Headteacher Alan Gray said: “This has been a truly exceptional year for our students. We are very proud of them, and how supportive they have been of each other. They embraced not only their studies but also the wider aspects of the curriculum such as sport, the Arts and Duke of Edinburgh scheme and are wonderful ambassadors for young people. The results this year set a new benchmark in what can be achieved, and I would like to congratulate all our students on their successes. Well done everyone and a very big thank you to our talented staff who helped students achieve so well today.”
