There was magic in the air at the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce’s annual St George’s Day lunch.

Representatives from the business community gathered at Sopwell House Hotel for a traditional lunch, some patriotic songs, an auction and awe-inspiring conjuring from TV magician Ben Hanlin.

Chamber President Pat Strods said: “”Wow! What a fantastic way to end my tenure as President of St Albans Chamber of Commerce, with an amazing St George’s Day Lunch celebrating all that is wonderful about our business community.
“It really was a coming-together of like-minded individuals united by their love of our remarkable district and desire to see it flourish and thrive. I think working in the district we take for granted what an amazing community we have.
“I’d like to thank all of our sponsors for their invaluable support, and the Chamber board of directors and the team of Emma Fisher, Claire Stevenson and Alexandra Asanache for their tireless effort in making it happen.”
