Legwarmers, perms and hairspray made an unprecedented comeback to St Albans in a charity tribute to the musical movies of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
The music mash-up is the third created by The Businesses Community of St Albans and video producers the Yellow Lizard in aid of local good causes Home-Start Herts and The Pioneer Club.
Following the smash success of 2017’s ‘You Can’t Stop The Feeling’ and the follow-up Christmas compilation, TBC is back again with a celebration of films including Fame, Footloose and Flashdance, featuring representatives from a host of local businesses.
The video debuted at a gala premiere event hosted by The Pioneer Club on Wednesday evening.
Organiser Sue Wybrow said: “Celebrating community through dance, laughter, and unity, the TBC Charity Mash-Up Video is our way of showcasing the power of coming together for a common cause and supporting two incredible charities that make a real difference in people’s lives. It was sooooo much fun and so brilliant to see people throwing themselves into character and getting involved in this crazy, crazy project.”
Some of the businesses involved were Brilliant Theatre Arts, Collinson Hall, Mix 92.6 FM, Redbourn Autos, The St Albans Times and Wagada Digital.
Suzy Moody, CEO of Home-Start Herts added: “We are just so excited to be doing another video project with the absolute legend, Sue Wybrow, the TBC team and of course the fabulous videographers Yellow Lizard.
“We are of course delighted that Home-Start Herts are one of the chosen charities again! Sue and the Yellow Lizard guys have been fantastic supporters of HSH, for over eight years and their passion and support has made a difference to so many families in St Albans, who are struggling.
“We are always overwhelmed with the support we receive from the local community and businesses- it really is about collaboration and we are so greatful to everyone, who has been involved, or attended the premier, donated, shared it on social media! You are making a difference.”
